At this point, you can notice that the top cover will have been rather removed and suitably replaced with the plain cover which comes with this bean bag at the time of purchase. The top part zips on pretty easily and is quite smooth, soft and stretchy thick nylon fabric which can be removed for washing in the machine. The two upper layers allow you to switch between the plain bean bag seat (without straps when your child gets older) and the harness seat (with straps).This comes with the Doomoo, although you can also buy spares.

Material:

The Doomoo Bean bag seat is a perfect mix of bi-elastic fabric and small micro-balls and this combination gives you superb comfort for babies and helps them sit and relax in their favourite positions, thereby giving them a comfortable feeling like none other. Their comparable texture makes them pretty tempting indeed. Getting a bit into the details, the layer with safety harness is made of 80% polyamide and 20% polyester, polyurethane & elastane. The layer without safety harness has a fabric composition of 80% polyamide & 20% elastane. The base is made of PVC & polypropylene and the bag filing is essentially of balls of expanded polystyrene.

Positions:

Your baby will be pretty comfortable whether he or she is reclining or sitting up. In the sitting position, you must apply some pressure with hands to the front of the bean bag seat before placing your baby in the seat and push the microballs to produce a back rest. In the reclining position, the microballs should be spread out to form a snug little nest for the baby. You can use the Doomoo bean bag seat as soon as your child can sit up without support. By spreading out the microballs, your child will be able to mould the seat to his/her favourite position. The layer should be changed by considering the babies’ height, age, weight and the extent of the child’s activity.

The Doomoo bean bag seat comes in five different versions namely the original that has a soft stretchy material on the upper covers. The Classic range features a soft velour/fabric and splash/bubbles is akin to the original in terms of fabric texture. The latest version is the Blop design. Machine washable:

The two upper layers of the bean bag seat are fully machine washable at a temperature of 30°C. The base of the Doomoo seat in laminated fabric can be cleaned using a damp cloth and do not tumble dry. Spares are also available for both the covers and filling which can give signs of flattening. The refill packs cost just a few pounds and can be easily inserted. Some parents also purchase spare loose covers so as to change the item’s colour way.

The quality of the bean bag seat has been approved by institutions like the LNE (France), TÜV (Germany) and ICE (UK).
Verdict:

Talking about the positives, they look great, comfortable and wipe clean and you can change the top part as your child grows. Another advantage is that it can help avoid ‘flat head’ and is excellent for babies with reflux. This makes us recommend this bean bag seat over any rocker/bouncer. We understand it is a tad expensive at just under £100, but you will be still happy you paid to get one and get your money’s worth in the end as they will last for quite several years because of their durability. With a host of glittering and trendy colours, they are a hit with parents and children. We kind of wish they make adult sized bags as they will be great as seating in a family room.
